Kate is passionate about the environment and global warming, and she believes her interest in the environment was ignited during her time at Linden. In May 2021, Kate graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Hillsboro High School, where she conducted her senior research project on the effects of BPA (a chemical used in plastics) on the growth of soybeans. While in high school Kate also performed in the Vanderbilt Philharmonic Orchestra as a cellist and participated in the Vanderbilt Research Experience for high school students (REHSS). Kate was offered scholarships to both Guilford College and Clark University. She chose to attend Clark, where she is pursuing a degree in Geography.
