Dr. Rhonda Bennett brings more than thirty years of experience in education and educational leadership to her role as Head of School at Linden Waldorf School. Throughout her career, she has been guided by a deep belief that childhood is a unique season of life deserving of reverence, protection, and thoughtful stewardship. She believes that strong schools are built through meaningful relationships, a deep understanding of child development, and a commitment to nurturing capable, compassionate, and engaged human beings.

 

Dr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University, an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Union University. Her professional experience spans public schools, independent schools, higher education, and educational leadership.

 

Before joining Linden, Dr. Bennett spent nearly two decades at Battle Ground Academy, where she served in several leadership roles, most recently as Head of Early Childhood Education. Among the experiences she values most was leading the development and opening of a preschool grounded in a play-based, developmentally informed approach. That work affirmed her longstanding conviction that children flourish when their education honors imagination, wonder, and the natural rhythms of development.

 

Although Dr. Bennett's path to Waldorf education has been different from that of many lifelong Waldorf educators, she found herself increasingly drawn to its profound understanding of childhood and human development. What began as curiosity became a deep sense of philosophical alignment. The more she learned and became immersed in the Linden community, the more she recognized that Waldorf education reflected values she had long embraced: protecting childhood, honoring developmental readiness, cultivating beauty and wonder, and educating children as thinking, feeling, and willing human beings. She believes Waldorf education offers children what they most need today—an education rooted in relationship, creativity, purpose, and a deep respect for human development.

 

As a school leader, Dr. Bennett is committed to cultivating a culture where children are deeply known, teachers are thoughtfully supported, and families are valued as partners in their children's education. She believes that education is ultimately about helping young people discover both who they are and how they can contribute meaningfully to the world.
