Camille Turner is an assistant professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy program at Belmont University. With her professional background as a licensed occupational therapist, she resonates with the intentional, holistic, developmental approach that Waldorf education provides to children. Camille and her husband, Don, chose Linden Waldorf School for their son, Cy, who began his Waldorf journey at age 3 in the Daisy classroom and graduated from Ms. Sherri Scott’s 8th grade class in 2020. Cy thrived in high school, leading to scholarships supporting his next four years at the University of Southern California. The Turners firmly believe that Cy’s foundational educational experiences at Linden were instrumental not only in supporting his academic success, but also in kickstarting his curiosity and resilience.
Camille is passionate about nontraditional education, and her professional work focuses on harnessing hybrid technology formats to educate adult students who are licensed, practicing occupational therapy professionals living across the country. Her work ultimately supports service provision in rural health care, where access to services is unpredictable, particularly for underrecognized or marginalized communities.
Camille earned a BA in Psychology at the University of the South (Sewanee), an MS in Occupational Therapy from Belmont in 2001, and an EdD from Nova Southeastern in 2023. She is pretty sure she is finished with school for now, but can’t make any promises!
Camille is a crafter, especially knitting and quilting, and, as a Linden parent, she relished interacting with fellow crafters through the Linden community. She exercises regularly because it keeps her brain working well. She is an avid reader, a dedicated cat parent, and embraces a new love of travel. She and Don are jointly composing an Empty Nest List that will keep them busy for years!
